This little gem is floating around Tumblr and it blew my mind. Talk about a Summer Hits medley!
Sam Tsui is currently an undergrad from Yale who started covering songs on youtube and became one of those as-seen-on-youtube stars doing covers of famous songs.
If it wasn’t for this nicely done little medley, I wouldn’t have looked twice. But he has a very nice voice and LOVE what he did with these songs. He mixes in B.O.B ft. Hayley Williams – Airplanes, Lady Gaga – Alejandro, Ke$ha – Your Love Is My Drug, Katy Perry – California Girls, and Usher – OMG.

I’m Mexican and since the United States loves to celebrate Cinco de Mayo (tacos, tequila and Coronas – yes please) – I figured I’d post some of my favorite Spanish songs. Will anyone care or listen? I don’t know but this is my blog so I get to post whatever I want! =) This is a very romantic song from Tucanes de Tijuana called “Mundo de Amor”.

Selena is an all around favorite. I used to have her t-shirts, TAPES, and even some of her clothing designs! This is (to my knowledge), the only, or one of 2, songs she has sang with a Mariachi and it’s beautiful. “Tu Solo Tu”.

Okay, this song has to be the most familiar to non-mexican/hispanics. Mana’s “Oye Mi Amor” is actually played at High School dances and various functions. It’s a fun song to dance to.

I LOVE “Y Llegaste Tu” by Banda El Recodo. The song translates to “And You Came Along.” They sing about someone who came into their lives, brightened it up, made it completely better, etc, etc.

Now, to a classic! “El Rey” by Vicente Fernandez is thee classic (along with “Volver, Volver.” If you want to get drunk and listen to a classic Mexican song, put this on. Watch all the men bust out their vocal chords and tequila shots.

For those celebrating Single Awareness Day, don’t worry – I didn’t forget about you. Happy S.A.D. Day
Here are some good songs to celebrate being single. Here’s the link to the Youtube playlist to listen to them all.
Tyrone Wells, “Wondering Where You Are”
Tyrone has amazing love songs, but this is a simple song about looking out into the world and wondering where your true love is and what they might be like.
Ne-Yo, “Single”
Ne-Yo be your boyfriend for the night? Yes please! He definitely knows what to say to make you feel okay with being single.
John Mayer, “Love Song For No One”
This is the way I was introduced to John Mayer, with this song. I was single at the moment; the song makes you feel like a true hopeless romantic.
John Mayer, “Perfectly Lonely”
Ok, so I tried to not repeat artists but come on? Off of John Mayer’s new record, this song is perfect. Basically declaring that you’re fine with being alone, you get to be whoever you want to be.
Bon Jovi, “It’s My Life”
“This ain’t a song for the broken hearted”. A feel-great-song all around for any occasion, really.
All-American Rejects, “Gives You Hell”
Just in case you have someone out there you want to know that you’re quite alright without them.
Beyonce, “Single Ladies”
Self explanatory? It’s the single lady anthem!
Ke$ha, “Tik Tok”
Party song number 1! If you’re going to go out and party it up for S.A.D. day (screw those couples going out to dinner right!) this song is the one to do it with.
Lorene Drive, “Anything Goes Tonight”
This song might not seem like it fits, but it does. Roll down the windows, take a drive with your best friends and blast this song. You’ll definitely feel like “anything goes tonight”.
Natasha Bedingfield, “Single”
Now THIS is the single anthem. You just need to listen to it and it will make you feel independent and happy as hell to be single.

(Some) of my favorite 10 Love Songs perfect for Valentine’s Day, in no order:
This Providence, “My Beautiful Rescue”
This song is simply beautiful. The author basically says he’s ignoring everything everyone else has to say and putting his pride aside to fall in love.
Ke$ha – “Your Love Is My Drug”
After her first single, who would have thought she had a love song in her? It’s a catchy cute song to explain how addicted you are to your significant other.
Jason Mraz ft. Colbie Caillat – “Lucky”
Not just your significant other? Your best friend as well? This song is for you. Official video
Bright Eyes – “First Day Of My Life”
“Glad I didn’t die before I met you” – pretty powerful statement. This song says that your life just began when you met this person.
Crosby Loggins – “Only One”
I love that part where he says, “first time we met, I told everyone I knew, I was going to get you, whatever I do”. Beautiful song for two in love.
Drake – “Best I Ever Had”
Huge hit of 2009. Every couple’s summer love song. ’Nuff said.
Tom Waits – “I Hope That I Don’t Fall In Love With You”
One of my favorites. You have to get to the end of the song to hear my favorite part. ”…and I think I just fell in love with you…”
Chris Brown “Forever”
I can’t help but to think of The Office during this song but it’s such a good wedding dance song “i’ve waited my whole life, for this one night, it’s going to be me, you and the dance floor”
Secondhand Serenade – “Fall For You”
Why wouldn’t you melt when someone told you, “a girl like you is impossible to find”?
The Maine, “I Must Be Dreaming”
Your love is too good, must be a dream. =)
**BONUS**
I completely forgot about this song but it HAS to be added. Rascal Flatts – “Bless The Broken Road”
This song is about someone who had a love their share of broken heart and pain, but finally found that special someone.
Anyone have any more suggestions? Feel free to leave them in the comment section.
